Yoga for Beginners?

Posted on August 31st, 2009 by admin in beginners yoga poses | 3 Comments »

Anyone know of a site that has simple directions to basic yoga poses that I can print and read as I do the poses? Or, can you reccomend a DVD that has morning and night (like 15 min) exercises? I take classes, but want something short and sweet to do when I wake up and before I go to bed. Thanks!

As for a DVD for morning or night, the perfect one would be Gaiam’s AM/PM yoga for beginners. It’s a great DVD. Click on the link below for more information:

I suggest the Living Arts Series featuring Rodney Yee. Great, short sessions for morning and evening (20 minutes each). You can also do the whole DVD program for a longer workout.

Here are a couple of well-known sites that explain the poses you can definitely print and read as you can do them. Explore the yoga journal site because there is so much to offer there. Also, here’s a link to a good dvd. And don’t forget to do some research on some good yin or restorative poses for the evening. Keep sun salutations and more active poses for your morning practice. Have fun and Namaste!
